Marc Jacobs is my favorite designer, that may not be a surprise to those who know me well. Reasons for my love other than his design ability? His relationship to the contemporary art world as well as the fact that one of his BFF’s is Sofia Coppola are definitely other things to love about the man.

Marc and Sofia are both people I have encountered on separate occasions within an art world context and was so in awe that I could not say anything to either of them. I saw Sofia with baby in tow at last years Armory show and MJ in a Chelsea gallery two years ago taking in a show of Richard Prince paintings. Him and a gorgeous model were the only other people in the space and I still couldn’t even say anything.

Those stories go to illustrate that I am maybe a little lacking in confidence.

Have you seen Marc in the new issue of GQ? The confidence that he projects is overwhelming. I can only hope to be so sure of myself in the future.

Also, have you seen his tattoos? WOW. Sponge Bob? Red M&M? Stars like whoa. I believe the man could make anything desirable.
