Shine a Light

Shine a Light presents a different kind of museum experience by re-imagining the galleries, lobbies, courtyard, and other spaces in unexpected ways and challenging traditional notions of art-making. This year’s event will let Museum-goers touch—and even tie the knot with—works of art, enjoy break dancing and music in the galleries, and see nude wrestling performances. Visitors will also have the opportunity to sample special beers created exclusively for this event by Coalition Brewing, Hopworks Urban Brewery, and Rock Bottom Brewery.

Shine a Light is a collaborative art project imagined and curated by the Portland Art Museum’s education department and faculty and graduate students in the MFA Arts and Social Practice concentration at Portland State University. Snacks from local food carts Koi Fusion and Tastebud will be available for purchase in the outdoor sculpture court.
