While in Toronto visiting friends, I told them about an idea I had for a tattoo. I would get the outline of a simple heart on my forearm and I would invite my friends and loved ones to do the same. When we would then put our arms side by side it would look like one heart. My friends loved the idea, and for a brief period it seemed as though we were all committed to the idea.
Upon waking the next day the idea of a forearm tattoo seemed less appealing to some. However, one of my best friends Brette still loved the idea and decided to get the tattoo.
I was also going to get one. I even went to the tattoo parlor with Brette, and had the stencil placed on my arm. At the last minute with doubts as to whether or not I could go through my whole life with a forearm tattoo, I had to hold off.
Brette believed enough in the idea to do it, even if it meant she might be the owner of a lonely heart that is merely open to the possibility of connecting to others.
I have made this temporary tattoo identical to Brette’s as a tribute to her. Place it on the outer part of your forearm to connect with this amazing loving friend of mine, even if only temporarily.
